The 7th Korea-Africa Economic Cooperation (KOAFEC) Ministerial Conference, Busan, Republic of Korea, 12– 15 September 2023.
The conference is hosted by the African Development Bank Group and the Ministry of Economy and Finance of the Republic of Korea.
The theme of the event is “Embracing a Sustainable Future: Just Energy Transition and Agricultural Transformation in Africa.” Discussions under the theme will address low-carbon energy transitions and food security issues across Africa while exploring Korea’s linkages in both areas.

Regional Exchange on Climate Action Acceleration at Africa Climate Week (ACW) 2023
The Regional Exchange on Climate Action Acceleration comprises the following affiliated and side events hosted by the UNFCCC secretariat and/or the NDC Partnership, plus a recommended list of related events under the Africa Climate Week 2023 program:
Opening session of the Regional Exchange on Climate Action Acceleration
Side event: LT-LEDS as a social, economic, and environmental instrument: Challenges and opportunities in Africa.
Track 1 event: Implementation of energy transition in the context of NDCs.
Side event: Accelerating Article 6 Readiness in African Countries.
Side event: Innovative Climate Action at the Water-Climate Nexus.
Closing session of the Regional Exchange on Climate Action Acceleration
Objectives
The Africa Regional Exchange aims to:
Enable peer-to-peer exchange on: a) NDC implementation and financing to date, b) the Global Stocktake and c) the path towards the next round of NDCs and their link to LT-LEDS;
Drive acceleration of climate action by showcasing examples of strong institutional arrangements, pivotal international cooperation support, key stakeholders' engagement and enhanced national capacity, among others;
Highlight the role of the collective action under the NDC Partnership to accelerate the implementation of the Paris Agreement and provide inputs for the first Global Stocktake.

Africa's Enhanced Transparency Framework (ETF) Readiness Workshop
This event is being organized by the African Development Bank (AfDB) in collaboration with partners of the Africa NDC Hub and the secretariat of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC Secretariat) and its Regional Collaboration Centre for West and Central Africa (RCC WAC Africa).
The seminar will be held on the margins of the UNFCCC Africa Regional Climate Week from 5th to 6th September 2023 in Nairobi, Kenya at Sarova Stanley Hotel. For the event schedule download the attached document.
The Event Objectives are:
Promote understanding of the ETF and its modalities, procedures, and guidelines, and their implications nationally.
Identify challenges, needs, and priorities of African countries, relating to their readiness for the implementation of their ETF commitments under the Paris Agreement.
Discuss the steps AfDB, in collaboration with UNFCCC and its RCC WAC Africa, would take to help address the identified challenges, needs, and priorities.

Second Policy and Outlooks Authors Meeting for the Seventh Global Environment Outlook (GEO-7)
The Global Environmental Outlook (GEO) is a series of reports that review the state and direction of the global environment. It is a global process conducted by UNEP at regional, national, and local levels around the world.
