The Regional Exchange on Climate Action Acceleration comprises the following affiliated and side events hosted by the UNFCCC secretariat and/or the NDC Partnership, plus a recommended list of related events under the Africa Climate Week 2023 program:

• Opening session of the Regional Exchange on Climate Action Acceleration
• Side event: LT-LEDS as a social, economic, and environmental instrument: Challenges and opportunities in Africa. 
• Track 1 event: Implementation of energy transition in the context of NDCs. 
• Side event: Accelerating Article 6 Readiness in African Countries.
• Side event: Innovative Climate Action at the Water-Climate Nexus.  
• Closing session of the Regional Exchange on Climate Action Acceleration

Objectives

The Africa Regional Exchange aims to:

• Enable peer-to-peer exchange on: a) NDC implementation and financing to date, b) the Global Stocktake and c) the path towards the next round of NDCs and their link to LT-LEDS; 
• Drive acceleration of climate action by showcasing examples of strong institutional arrangements, pivotal international cooperation support, key stakeholders' engagement and enhanced national capacity, among others; 
• Highlight the role of the collective action under the NDC Partnership to accelerate the implementation of the Paris Agreement and provide inputs for the first Global Stocktake.
