Side Event: The Paris Agreement Aspirations through the Implementation of Nationally Determined Contributions in the COMESA and EAC Regions

The side event will take stock of the status of the implementation of NDCs of African Member States of COMESA and EAC Regions and explore further opportunities for implementation. More specifically the event will:

•Update on the status of NDC implementation, share experiences, best practices, and opportunities and associated challenges in the region

•Identify opportunities for translating NDCs into concrete actions and financing to contribute to the NDC goal

•Promote the exchange of experience and expertise in the implementation of the NDCs in the African region from a continental and regional level Perspective

Side Event: Towards Resilient, Sustainable, Transformed African Agriculture and Food Systems             

The event will explore the interlinkages and interdependencies between climate-resilient agricultural practices, livelihoods, and food security. It will further highlight opportunities for building resilience and sustainability in Africa’s agricultural production systems.
